Deep-rooted perennial; 1-3 ft. Leaves clover-like, but leaflets elongate. Violet-blue flowers in loose heads ¼ - ½ in. long. Apr-Oct. Pods loosely spiral-twisted. Found in fields and roadsides.Often cultivated. Warning: Consuming large quantities saponins may cause bloating in livestock. Sprouts may cause recurrence in dormant cases of lupus.

Preparations
and amount:
Infusion: Steep 5-15 min. Take 6 oz (fluid
ounce).3 times daily.
Tincture: Take 5-15 drops 3 times daily.
Fluid extract: Take ½ to 1 tsp.3 times daily.
Powder: Take 5-15 #0 capsules (30-60 grains) 3 times daily.
Purpose:
Internally, alfalfa must be used in fresh, raw
form in order to provide essential nutrients. Which alfalfa is full of. Every
